HC-Series General Setup Instructions

Setup instructions for HC type collectives

Hardware Setup:

  1. Insert 2040 mounting bar into the Collective Controller Mounts.  *NOTE* Fit may be tight.  Carefully work bar until fully inserted into end mount.
  2. Plug USB cable in the front of the Collective Controller.
  3. Optionally, you can place the cable in the cable clip on the bottom side of the controller to prevent damage to the USB port.

Windows 10/11 Setup:

  1. Plug USB cable into computer.
  2. Click the Windows Start button and in the search bar, type “Game Controllers”
  3. Select Arduino Micro and click properties.
  4. Click the Settings tab.
  5. Click Calibrate. The calibration wizard will open.
  6. Click Next
  7. Click Next
  8. You should now see X-Rotation.  Twist the collective throttle until it stops.  Repeat in the opposite direction.  Repeat several times.
  9. Press any joystick button.
  10. Repeat for additional axis if applicable
  11. Move the collective controller stick to its bottom most position and press a joystick button.
  12. Click Finish.
  13. On the Test tab, verify calibration by moving or rotating each joystick axis. Note the axis bar.
  14. Verify that all buttons work by pressing each one and watching the button control panel.

    Note: On collectives with a throttle axis, the cutoff action is triggered by pressing the cutoff lock button and twisting the throttle past the cutoff lock.
  15. Click apply when finished.
  16. Click OK
  17. Click OK
  18. The Collective Controller is ready to use.  Buttons can be programmed in your game of choice.
